I like<\/span> fashion<\/span> and<\/span> I<\/span> feel good about<\/span> what I wear<\/span>. Honestly<\/span> not<\/span> too serious about it<\/span>, I am more than<\/span> feel like I’m<\/span> wearing<\/span> a cool thing<\/span>. That shirt<\/span> (he<\/span> points to<\/span> the model<\/span> is wearing<\/span>), have<\/span> been around for<\/span> a long time.<\/span> I’m not the<\/span> kind of person who<\/span> leafs<\/span> magazines<\/span> to see what<\/span> people are using<\/span>, but I<\/span> have my<\/span> favorites,<\/span> parts where<\/span> I feel comfortable<\/span>. That’s<\/span> as far as you<\/span> go!<\/span> I have a few<\/span> designers<\/span> that I love<\/span> and<\/span> consider<\/span> cool<\/span>, like<\/span> Rogan<\/span>, Rag<\/span> & Bone<\/span>, Matcheless<\/span> (<\/span>they’re amazing, is my<\/span> newest<\/span> favorite brand<\/span>), Zadig<\/span> &<\/span> Voltaire<\/span> and<\/span> John<\/span> Varvatos<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

You usually<\/span> get involved<\/span> in the costume<\/span> of your characters<\/span>? Gives<\/span> opinions<\/span>?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Certainly.<\/span> I talk a lot<\/span> with the<\/span> costume designers<\/span> and<\/span> the director.<\/span> I think<\/span> the clothes<\/span> in a movie<\/span> are<\/span> a<\/span> mixture<\/span> of<\/span> view of different<\/span> professionals.<\/span> There are long<\/span> in which<\/span> I got<\/span> already<\/span> getting<\/span> almost 30<\/span> hours in the<\/span> costume<\/span> room<\/span> –<\/span> or<\/span> because the film<\/span> has many<\/span> looks<\/span> involved<\/span>, or<\/span> because the clothes<\/span> are very specific.<\/span> In<\/span> Phantom of the Opera<\/span>, for example, it took a lot to<\/span> get<\/span> the right<\/span> shade<\/span> at the right<\/span> expression,<\/span> the<\/span> ideal<\/span> material,<\/span> the<\/span> perfect outfit<\/span>, the<\/span> more<\/span> makeup that<\/span> matched the<\/span> shade<\/span> …<\/span> Sometimes you feel<\/span> that<\/span> spends more time with<\/span> the<\/span> costume designers<\/span> than<\/span> own<\/span> film set<\/span>!<\/p>\n

They [the<\/span> costume designers<\/span>] know<\/span> many interesting<\/span> ways to dress<\/span> a person<\/span>, especially those that add<\/span> personality<\/span> to the characters.<\/span> When<\/span> you play<\/span>, you’re always saying<\/span> something<\/span> through the clothes<\/span>. Sometimes<\/span> they can give you<\/span> a play<\/span> any<\/span>, but add<\/span> a scarf<\/span> or<\/span> make<\/span> a tear<\/span> here and there and<\/span> suddenly<\/span> it<\/span> becomes<\/span> more alive, more<\/span> colorful and<\/span> richer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Probably when<\/span> they<\/span> are so preoccupied<\/span> with their<\/span> clothes that<\/span> end up feeling<\/span> uncomfortable<\/span>. When they are<\/span> more<\/span> concerned about the impact<\/span> that<\/span> will<\/span> cause<\/span> than with<\/span> the practicality of<\/span> production itself<\/span>.<\/div>\n

Much is said about<\/span> machismo<\/span> in<\/span> Hollywood.<\/span> Do you think<\/span> there is a difference<\/span> in the treatment of<\/span> men and women in<\/span> cinema?<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Yes<\/span>.<\/span> I think there are<\/span> differences in both<\/span> the executive<\/span> side of the industry<\/span> as<\/span> the<\/span> artistic side<\/span>. There are so many<\/span>, if not most<\/span> actresses<\/span> as<\/span> talented<\/span> as<\/span> actors<\/span> and yet the<\/span> papers<\/span> they are not as<\/span> interesting and<\/span> satisfactory<\/span>. And they<\/span> also<\/span> do not always get<\/span> the same thing as<\/span> us.<\/span> I would love to<\/span> see a change<\/span> in this<\/span> framework<\/span>. Especially because<\/span> there are wonderful<\/span> actresses<\/span> out there who<\/span> do not have<\/span> the chance to have<\/span> the roles<\/span> they deserve.<\/span> Often they<\/span> are much better<\/span> than<\/span> actors-<\/span> and I<\/span> include myself in this<\/span>!<\/div>\n

I<\/span><\/span>‘ve been many times in Brazil, eight or more, and can say that is one of my favorite countries. <\/span>I spent long periods here, last time I was six weeks traveling. <\/span>And one of the reasons why people are so fond. <\/span>No doubt you have the most beautiful women in the world. <\/span>I love the sense of style of you. <\/span>At Carnival, for example, only to see the colorful, sexy and fun way women dress, it’s amazing. <\/span>The confident way they dance! <\/span>Rodrigo Santoro is a good friend of mine and the first year he paraded in a samba school I was there. <\/span>They had just entered the street and let me keep the edge, watching the school pass. <\/span>I put on my shirt and I was dancing in the corner. <\/span>Just being there was too much. <\/span>I arrived in Brazil before the party, so I could see closely the preparations for the parade and understand the importance of it to people. <\/span>Just remember I’m already creepy! <\/span>It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life to participate in this process.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

In<\/span> Invasion<\/span> to<\/span> London<\/span> I play<\/span> the right<\/span> arm<\/span> of the president<\/span>, a<\/span> Secret Service<\/span> agent.<\/span> He<\/span> is strong<\/span>, dedicated, powerful and very<\/span> vengeful<\/span>.
